WIFFLE HURLING
WHAT: A new version of the Irish sport of hurling played with Wiffle bats and balls
Wiffle Hurling is the first sport designed by the Institute of Aesthletics in 2005. The wooden hurleys of hurling are replaced with plastic Wiffle bats, which make the game accessible to all. It’s the “softball” version of hurling; less dangerous, and can be played while drinking beer. Wiffle Hurling’s visceral fun and creative potential inspired the further investigation of sport invention as a creative practice.
